Winback Claim Overview
The Winback Trade-In initiative provides an additional customer credit for customers who move their mobile connection to Telecom and sign up to an eligible post-paid plan and term.
Upside handles the claim and credit process on Telecom's behalf.
- For new winback connections from 18 June 2009:
- If the customer is porting their mobile number to Telecom, no trade-in sim or handset is required. When you register the Port Authorisation on the Upside web site, set the question “Is this a Postpaid winback claim?” to YES.
- If the customer is not porting, but is transferring from Vodafone a trade-in SIM is to be retrieved from the customer and forwarded to Upside
- If the customer is not porting, but is transferring from Telstra, a trade-in handset is to retrieved from the customer and forwarded to Upside.
- Winback connections prior to 29 May will need to have the trade-in SIM only sent to Upside to get the customer and dealer credits.
- The Port Authorisation forms, and where applicable the SIM cards and trade-in handsets MUST be returned to Upside within 14 days of connection.
- SIM cards and handsets are checked off against registration information. Non-returned SIM cards and handsets are investigated.
- Winback credits will be applied on receipt of the Port Authorisation forms or trade-in items.
- Upside will return the SIMs to the losing network. Trade-in handsets are passed to a Telecom approved third party to be sold, with the proceeds going to the Starship hospital.
