Winback Trade-in Help

Use these steps where winback customer is NOT porting their number across to Telecom.

• When a winback sale is made,
If the losing newtwork is Vodafone, retain the customer’s SIM
If the losing network is Telstra, retain the customer’s handset.
It is VITAL that you:

• Use Synapse or other tools to transfer contact details to the new phone / XT SIM card.

• Remind the customer that it is the CUSTOMER's responsibility to arrange disconnection with the losing network. We have no authority to do it for them.

• PIN lock the Vodafone SIM card on a GSM phone and forget the PIN. Even better, ask the customer to do it.

• Check that the Telstra trade-in phone is working (powers up).

• Go to www.upside.co.nz . , or use the "Winback" link on the Upside home page

• Enter your Dealer code, customer name, and optional reference. We recommend that you use your sales invoice number as the reference. Use a new web form for each customer.

• Click "Continue"

• Enter the first new connection number. No hyphens or spaces.

• Enter EITHER the 12 or 16 digit Vodafone SIM card number. ("Filler" SIM numbers will not be credited), or the Telstra handset ESN number

• Continue to add all the new connection numbers and SIM/ESN numbers for that customer.

• Click "Finish", and you will see the Authorisation form. Print TWO copies.

• Ensure that the customer signs ONE copy and keep it with your records. Do NOT send the signed Authorisation form to Upside, nor give it to the customer.

• Sellotape the Vodafone SIM cards (numbers facing) to the second Authorisation form, place it in to the SIM tin, then lock away the SIM tin. Where applicable, wrap the trade-in authorisation form round the Telstra handset and secure with a rubber band.

• If required, you can reprint the Trade-in Authorisation form using your dealer code and the Authorisation form reference.
